I did it! I ran the San Jose Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon yesterday. I wasn’t really sure what to expect as my training didn’t go quite as well as I had hoped it would. It went pretty well, but I wasn’t expecting much the actual day of the race. Combine that with the IT Band Injury and well… apparently the reason I was craving my PMS Bites last week was to have something poorly timed starting the night before the half marathon. I’ve never had to run with cramps before :/ BUT with all of that said, I still finished in *drum roll please*!
2 hours 8 minutes 38 seconds. I did not beat my previous best, but this was my second best half marathon. Can’t beat my PR every time, right 😉

I saw some great signs. This one, among others like “Pinocchio says there are no more hills” (lies!!!), “May the course be with you”, and my personal favourite, “Your perspiration is my inspiration”.

I was all ready to completely junk out after the run, I felt like I had earned it after all. But when we got to Whole Foods they had surprisingly little vegan options. So I got a burrito and a bunch of veggies. I actually felt pretty good after it, so that was probably a good move.
All in all, a great race. Brie and I are thinking of conquering the one in Vegas next fall =)
