Running, Walking & Brunch

Good morning! Here’s to a glorious new week. I am especially excited to get through this week as I took on some extra volunteering shifts these past several weeks that are coming to a close. Don’t get me wrong – I love volunteering and I love what I do, but sometimes I pile on way too much. I feel like I haven’t even been home much at all the past two weeks. Despite being too busy, I thought I’d share my highlights over the past week and weekend with you =)

I was able to tell a Make A Wish kid that their wish to go to Disney will be granted:disneywish

This past weekend I went running with my friend David:

This picture is actually a couple of weeks old, but I didn’t get one this past weekend.

Yesterday morning, Sunny actually let me sleep in until 6am (we normally get up around 5) and we got ready for a walk and caught the sunrise (we normally walk in the dark):

Terry and  I went to brunch with friends at Millennium Restaurant in Oakland. Wow. Just wow. The food was amazing. Everything was so good, I can’t wait to go back! Here is what we ordered:

Orange Creamsicle

Ginger Soda

Roasted Potatoes

Avocado Bruschetta

Mushroom Gravy Delicata Grits

I’m still drooling thinking about it. Yum.

And here is a cute dog picture to start your week off right!

  1. It’s so wonderful that you volunteer so much. I bet telling a kid they get to go to Disney is beyond magical!

I wanted to go to Millennium when I visited San Francisco in June but didn’t have the time to get to Oakland. The food looks wonderful – I’m jealous!

Sunny is so precious! I love her smiling in that picture! Great way to start the week!

    1. Telling a kid that has been greatly impacted by illness that they get to go to Disney is an amazing experience =) They are so incredibly happy & grateful. It’s pretty awesome =)
You’ll have to come back to the Bay Area and check it out! The food is amazing.
Haha Sunny makes me laugh and smile a lot. That’s what furids are for.

  2. I went to Millennium once back in the previous location and it was so good. Your food looks amazing! I might have to think about swinging by the bay area again on a future US trip!

That was nice of Sunny to let you sleep in. Perhaps she could have a word to my Sahara about how lovely it is to stay sleepy until 6? 😉

    1. Come back!!! If you come back, we can go to Millennium together =) There may be something in the works coming up in March that you may be interested in traveling for… stay tuned!
Ah furkids don’t like to let their parents sleep in, do they? ;p

  3. That avocado bruschetta….whoa. Definitely need to try a version of that. Many thanks for the cute dog picture! I needed that. I lost my dogs to old age and haven’t gotten the nerve to get more quite yet.

    1. I didn’t try it, but my hubby said it was amazing! I’ll have to try recreating something like it at home.
Awww :( I know that will be me one day and it’ll be tough. My mom went through that a few years back and just got another dog – she is much happier with it. But take your time – it’s a tough thing.
      Thanks for stopping by Dawn.

    1. During the spring and summer and even start of fall, 5am is such an easy time to wake up… but as the days get shorter, I guess I need more sleep. Very fun activities and delicious food all make for a great weekend =)
