Can you believe next Fridays is the Eve of Christmas Eve? Yikes! It kind of snuck up on me. Since my family is back in Canada, I’ve long ago mailed their gifts and cards to make sure they arrived on time. I can relax a bit now. Terry and I are gearing up for a SUPER FUN weekend… which I share with you all next week! Stay tuned…
Today is our holiday features HVF – scroll on down to see our favourite holiday recipe picks.
Never heard of Healthy Vegan Fridays before? It’s an amazing weekly linkup for bloggers to share their delicious and healthy vegan food. This linkup is not restricted to recipes though – feel free to share your posts on exercise & fitness, plant-based health & wellness, and/or vegan travel, restaurant and cookbook reviews.
Don’t have a blog? Don’t worry! You can come and see what others have shared and find some tasty food to try!
Let’s check out some of our favs from last week.
Dark Chocolate Peppermint Popcorn from Running in a Skirt:
Ummm YES please! This hits so many good things for me: popcorn? Check! Chocolate? Check! Peppermint? Double check! I really love popcorn and well… who doesn’t love chocolate? And if you’ve been reading my blog recently, you will notice my love of all things peppermint around this time of season. This may help diminish my super naughty cravings for a bajillion cookies too!
Easy Holiday Cashew Clusters from Beautifully Bohemian:
Ah these are so cute! And combine another of my favourites – chocolate & cashews. These are great for a DIY gift for friends… or to make and eat alllll by yourself 😉
Cranberry and Chocolate Chip Banana Bread from Bite-Sized Thoughts:
With all things peppermint, comes all things cranberry! This is something I can dig (unlike the all things pumpkin haha). And combining it with chocolate chips would make it that much more delicious. This was brought to a potluck and I think it must have been a great hit.
Healthy Smoothies That Taste Like Holiday Cookies from Fit Foodie Mama:
Oh my goodness, this is perfect timing. I will admit to eating waaaaaay too many holiday cookies as of late. I need to swap it out for something more nutritious, yet still delicious. These smoothies are substantial and filling, which will help keep the cravings away – but they are also like having a treat. An all over win. I’m totally eyeing up the Chocolate Peppermint one 😉
This week, Mary Ellen is sharing her Roasted Tomato Chickpea Soup:
Although I can’t really complain about the cold here in California, it has cooled off and rainy season is making us all slightly wet and miserable. I’m definitely leaning more towards hearty soups like this to keep my spirits up. The chickpeas and coconut milk would make it extra thick and creamy. Yum.
And I’m sharing my Chocolate Peppermint Truffles:
These may be slightly labour intensive, but well worth the effort. I had these in mind for a great DIY gift… but I’ve eaten a fair amount of them myself 😉
We’d love it if you link up and bring some friends to the party! We’ll be pinning and sharing your tasty treats on social media!
Let’s get sharing! I can’t wait to see what you bring this week!
