Healthy Vegan Fridays #111

Happy Fri-yay! Anyone else happy? ‘Cause baby it’s the freakin’ weekend! Woot! Ok… I may be overly excited as tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY! Yes, I am in my 30’s and still get excited about my birthday. I always will, it’s just part of who I am. I think I may be EXTRA excited as my mama is visiting and she’s the one who originally made me be super excited over birthdays. I imagine fun times will ensue – I will give you a full status report of the fun activities on Monday. Until then, let’s get down to food business!

Oh but first! Anyone else want this on a t-shirt????

Don’t forget to sign up for the reminder email so you can link up each and every Friday (scroll on down to the bottom).

Never heard of Healthy Vegan Fridays before? It’s an amazing weekly linkup for bloggers to share their delicious and healthy vegan food. This linkup is not restricted to recipes though – feel free to share your posts on exercise & fitness, plant-based health & wellness,  and/or vegan travel, restaurant and cookbook reviews.

Don’t have a blog? Don’t worry! You can come and see what others have shared and find some tasty food to try!

Let’s check out some of last week’s recipes!

Banana Mango Nice Cream from Urban Naturale:

Looking for a refreshing way to cool down? Look no further! This healthy nice cream will have you chillin’ in no time.

Anti-Inflammatory and Low Histamine Recipes from The Fit Foodie Mama:

I like how Annmarie shares her thoughts on trying to figure out a diet that works well with her body. I know we can all relate to this – I still haven’t quite figured out everything that makes my digestion unhappy. Her tips and recipes are a good start to figuring things out!

Lemon Salad Dressing from Gluten Free with Judee:

Judee assures us that this dressing will leave our mouths puckered from awesome lemon sourness. I actually really love sour dressings and this one, combined with fresh herbs is sure to make any salad delicious.

Healthy Copycat Cocao Krispies from Healthy Helper Blog:

Has anyone got on the mushroom superfood bandwagon yet? I’ve seen a few chocolate things recently infused with chaga mushrooms… but just wasn’t sure it would be my cup of tea. This granola, however, proves me wrong. Puffed rice, chocolate chips, buckwheat groats mixed with the mushroom hot chocolate mix sounds like a winner!

Anyone else in a lunch rut?? Have no fear as this week, Mary Ellen is sharing her 10 Easy to Prepare Vegan Lunches:

And I’m sharing my (birthday!) Chocolate Ice Cream Tarkie:

We’d love it if you link up and bring some friends to the party! We’ll be pinning and sharing your tasty treats on social media!

  1. I really want that on a t-shirt! We should get one each and wear it when we meet! 😉

I’m in my thirties too and I also get excited about my birthday… So you’re totally normal. Or we’re both abnormal. which I can live with. So happy birthday lovely Kimmy! You’re such a wonderful person and I just can’t wait to meet you. Enjoy the cake, the family fun and… all the love!

    1. Ok… I actually tried looking up the t-shirt, I’m not sure it exists. I wonder if I could have it made…
If we’re abnormal, I don’t want to be normal haha ;p
Thank you for the kind words Kate – I’m so excited to finally meet you soon =D

  2. Chocolate and marshmallows I’m there! LOL about the shirt, I’m usually a “like it to look as good as it tastes” but at the same time there are some pretty ugly not so pretty chocolate and peanut butter concoctions I LOVE! Hoping to link up this afternoon, sorry it’s been a crazy week.

    1. Oooh 50 is a big one! I hope you have a super fun celebration =)
I’m having a really great time with my mom. It’s so nice having her visit.
Your energy balls sound so good! Thanks for sharing Sandi. I hope you’re having a great weekend!

  3. Hi Kimmy,
I am so delighted to see that the Banana Mango Vegan Nice Cream from Urban Naturale has been featured this week on Healthy Vegan Fridays. I appreciate the recognition and support. Today I shared Chill Out with Banana Blackberry Vegan Nice Cream. Thanks for hosting. All the best, Deb

    1. I love your nice cream! It sounds great and I can’t wait to try them out and the blackberry one too! I have been buying store vegan ice cream lately, but really need to make my own and this will definitely inspire me to make some creative flavours.
Thank you Deborah. I hope you have a great weekend!
