Happy Friday!! It’s that time again to share our love of good vegan food.

There were so many entries last week! New friends coming to HVF! It make me so very happy =) Let’s keep this ball rolling and make some more HVF friends. If you’re new to Healthy Vegan Fridays, check out all of the info right here.

Before we get started though, let’s get our MoFo on! Today is day 10.

11 Focus on a nutrient

I wasn’t really sure how to go about this one. Nutrient is a rather broad term and can be interpreted many different ways. So I thought I would show my love for my very favourite macronutrient – carbs!

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the wrap, bread & doughnut
My tastebuds can reach while in a food rut.
For the beginning of a meal,
to make breakfast more real.
I love thee pasta & rice,
Oh! and a pizza slice.
I love thee to the end of time,
even if I cannot rhyme.

Ok… so I’m no poet, and boy do I know it, but I thought I’d share my love of a very important nutrient =)

Wow! Not only is the picture stunning – the dish sounds wonderfully delicious. I haven’t used tamarind much, so this will give me a good excuse to experiment more with it. This savoury chickpea & potato dish sound divine.

No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Bars from Vie de la Vegan:

I love that this bad boy is only 5 simple ingredients. It’s super simple to make and will make an excellent grab & go snack. Refined sugar free to boot!

Super Cheesy Hemp Sauce from The Raw Project:

There’s a secret ingredient in this! Fresh rosemary straight from the garden. That sounds like a perfect addition to this cheesy, saucy masterpiece. I *always* make “cheeze” from cashews. Always. I love the idea of making it out of hempseeds – a nuttier flavour with a protein boost.

I hope you are having a wonderful week! Can you believe we are already 11 days into MoFo? I am loving all of the awesome recipes and creations I have been seeing. And the friends I’m making. I haven’t quite been giving it the attention I would like to as I have family visiting, I’ll be back mid-next week hopefully with more creative recipes and better pictures. But if not… that’s ok! ‘Cause MoFo is for fun =)

  1. Thank you for featuring my No Bake Chocolate Oatmeal Bars, Kimmy! I’m sharing another refined sugar-free sweet today – strawberry “cheesecake” 😀 (plus some tempeh burgers for the savoury food fans). I can’t believe how fast September is passing, MoFo is so much fun!

    1. Totally loving the sound of your bars Kyra. I can’t wait to try them out – they will make a great snack to pack and bring around when I’m short on time (or just anytime haha). Can’t wait to check out your recipes of the week!

  2. What a beautiful poem, carbs are indeed worthy of our adoration.
    Another great collection of recipes, but rosemary in cheesy hemp sauce has particularly tickled my fancy.
