Cherry Oat Parfait


I came across some pictures of this delicious vegan yogurt on Instagram. I’m always looking for a good yogurt as I like making parfaits, adding it to my smoothies & cheezes. I’m still trying to find the perfect one and I think this might be it!

I commented on a post and was offered samples to try. YAY! I wasn’t asked to do anything in return, but thought since I enjoyed it so much, I would make this yummy breakfast with it.


It has one of the best textures I have come across in plant-based yogurt AND it’s not too sweet. I find this combo very hard to come across. I am really not a fan of super sweet yogurts. I also like that it’s gluten & soy free and has no added sugar. It’s creamy, dreamy and dee-licious!


Cherry Oat Parfait (makes 2)

2/3 cups of non-dairy yogurt of your choice
2 good hand fulls of cherries

2/3 cup of oats
1/2 cup of chopped nuts (I used a mix of walnuts, pecans, amonds & cashews)
2 tsp of maple syrup
a pinch of cinnamon & salt

Mix the granola ingredients together. I start by layering the yogurt on the bottom, adding the prepared granola, then the cherries and repeat.


I was especially excited to use the rainier cherries I found at the Farmer’s Market. They are my favourite cherry. They are so pretty too!

  2. This looks so great Kimmy! I used to love yogurt parfaits before going vegan and have not really had one since!

    Thanks for the review of the yogurt too. I’m always looking for new vegan ones to try. I haven’t seen that before but it looks tasty!

  3. Yum! I love cherries! Though I would go for a soy or almond based yoghurt. I actually find the So Delicious coconut yoghurts are OK for me, but I can’t get them here. All the coconut yoghurts available here are no good.

    My go to breakfast is either toast with vegemite, avocado, turmeric and tomato (or PB, banana and cinnamon if it is a pre-yoga breakfast), or a green smoothie. Though it is getting cold here now, so I am thinking smoothies may get a bit replaced with hot oats.

    1. I really, really love coconut yogurt, but also like the almond-based ones. I don’t do well with the soy-based unfortunately.
      I have yet to try vegemite. I’m curious about it. Cold tends to make me want nice porridges =)

  4. Yum! This yoghurt sounds absolutely perfect! Looks like such a good breakfast too. I usually try and incorporate some kind of fruit into my breakfast but I’ve been having a lazy week of brown toast and peanut butter (it’s soo good though!).

  5. I wish it was breakfast time already so I could make this! Also wishing I picked up some coconut yoghurt from the supermarket today! This parfait looks so amazing Kimmy, and I love those rainier cherries too <3 my current go-to breakfast is either peanut butter & mashed banana on toast, or porridge of some sort (normally just plain topped with fruit) :)

  6. I will definitely keep an eye out! I always prefer coconut-based dairy alternatives to soy. I’m loving your parfait! I never think about making them until the last second, and it takes a steady hand to make them pretty. Yours is gorgeous! And the cherry flavor would be so bright in a cooling yogurt. YUM!

    1. I like soy, it just doesn’t like me :/ I find coconut tastes better though! Mine typically do not look this pretty. I normally just throw the yogurt in a bowl, throw on the granola and then the fruit. It’s normally messy haha ;p
