Brawnie Batter Bites

I was looking for some inspiration for a new blog post including a recipe and randomly threw these bad boys together. They are fun and sweet treat without the guilt 😉

Not only are they a fun & portable treat, it’s a great post-workout snack.

Aren’t they cute?

Brawnie Batter Bites

1/2 cup of nuts (I used half pecans & half walnuts)

6 medjool dates, soaked in warm water until soft (save the water)

3-4 tbsp of date soaking water (if you need a little more sweetness, try maple syrup or agave)

2 tbsp coconut water

2 tbsp of cacao or carob powder (I used cacao in these)

2 tbsp of cashew butter

1 tbsp of coconut oil

1 tbsp of hempseeds

1 tbsp of shredded, unsweetened coconut

1 tsp of lacuma

1 tsp of maca powder

1/2 a vanilla bean scraped (or 1 tsp of vanilla extract)

a sprinkle of cinnamon & sea salt

Throw the nuts into a food processor and run it until they are broken up. Then add in your dates & date soaking water and process until you get a bit of a crumbly mixture. Throw in the rest of the ingredients and process until you get a bit of a brownie batter. Take a tsp and scoop out your batter and roll into cute, little balls and put them in the fridge or freezer until they harden.

** I was experimenting, having fun and currently have a very stocked baking cupboard – but make these your own, you don’t need to put everything but the kitchen sink in, feel free to make them more simple.

Enjoy these tasty little morsels over your long weekend ‘ya’all =D Have a super fantastic (and safe!) Labour Day Weekend!!
